I am confident the managers are whipping the programmers with a riding crop to fix this.
I do find the current instability annoying and I too register my annoyance at loosing some playing time.
..however guess what...If you'd stop to think about it for a second you should realise it's fricking Saturday there. They have people working the the *weekend* to try and fix up whatever is wrong! -(at least the latest emergency reboot).
Second, quality is a thankless job. If you get 99,999 things right, no one will say a thing about it. What they will whine and complain about is the 1 item that slipped through the nets.
- If you are *not* a professional programmer in RL then my opinion is that you really don't know what your talking about. Simply register your annoyance at the service which is down. - Don't go on a Whine-athon and pretend you could do better.
- If you are a professional programmer then think about glass houses...ok.
- Third have you noticed the lack of news and dev blogs lately? Sure this is annoying and I'd like to know more about what is vexing the system, however I'd rather they were fixing the problems with all available resources rather than blogging about what's wrong. - I look forward to the dev blog which explains it after it's fixed.
Dear dev alt,
Normally I'd agree with you: just fix the damn thing and get it over with. In this case, however, there is a legitimate concern that the ca. 2 crashes a day, for the last 6 days, are somehow Incarna related. More specifically, there is great worry in me -- and I'm sure in others as well -- that the Incarna situation is spinning out of control: from overheating client GFX cards to now, apparently, server side issues with this latest 'expansion' (I'd rather call it an 'implosion', really, but I digress) that they can no longer contain -- like a fire that has overtaken them.
While I'm actually quite fond of Incarna -- or, rather, with the idea thereof -- still, I think we need (and probably deserve) a devblog on this. Because if the above is true, I'd like to be informed; and if it's false, I'd like to know that too.
